What Yamakyu can do
Yamakyu's environmental solutions began with our participation in the "Lake Biwa Environmental Business Messe" in 1999. The theme of our first exhibit was "Energy Saving and Optimization of Compressed Air by Inverter. In addition, we have acquired naming rights from Shiga Prefecture for "Lake Oku Biwa/Sanmon Suigen no Mori", and we are actively working on environmental issues, such as working on "decarbonization = CO2 reduction" by introducing the MIRAI fuel cell vehicle. History of EMS activities
Obtained "ISO14001" certification in October 2001.
Afterwards, as part of our environmental performance, we continued for 10 years, such as community
cleanups and cutting reeds along the lakeshore, but after the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011,
we became acutely aware of the importance of energy, and from energy conservation to "energy creation". We
have shifted to energy "ISO50001" certification with the theme of "safety". In recent years, as people have
been clamoring to prevent global warming, interest in other environmental issues has waned.
Therefore, in the year of our 90th anniversary, we once again acquired ISO14001 certification, rebuilt
our environmental management system, and updated it to the Shin EMS Secretariat. First, we will improve the
environment within the company, and then carry out monthly community cleanups, which have been carried out
over 200 times since the first EMS secretariat, and conduct conservation activities for the `Lake
Oku-Biwa/Sanmon Water Source Forest`, for which we have the naming rights, and decarbonize. We are
contributing to environmental improvement by preferentially selling environmentally friendly products that
are appropriate for the times.
